How It Started
Three brothers, Adriano, Bruno, and Marcello Ducati, along with their father, became extremely successful in manufacturing radios around the 1930s when they founded their company, Società Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati in Italy. But they soon found themselves out of business as a result of World War II. This event caused the brothers to diversify their production, and as a comeback, they ventured into the motorcycle manufacturing industry.
The First Ducati Motorcycle
Taking a leap of faith, the brothers started earnestly working on their first bike, which they called the Cucciolo. The bike was released in 1946 and it was a huge success, leading to the release of their second model called the Ducati 60 in 1949. This was a huge milestone for the brothers as their company was now recognized as an official motorcycle manufacturer.
